There are a variety of reasons why you may be searching for the best listening experience, whether you’re an audiophile looking to upgrade the factory speakers that came with your truck or if you’re just a music lover seeking to replace a worn-out speaker in your car.
The good news is that with a tiny upgrade, you can build a system that allows you to have a sound system that is clear, balanced, no matter where you are. The automotive audio systems market is flooded with a lot of options, so we’ve sifted out the best truck speakers that are currently available.
Your car stereo system can sound a lot better by putting in new door speakers, and that is definitely a decision that can make a significant difference to the quality of the sound.
Irrespective of whether you are looking to upgrade your current car door speakers or simply replace your old blown factory fitted speakers, there are many options for you to choose from and sorting through the good, the bad and the downright nasty can be quite a challenge.
For your convenience, we have taken the time to sift through all of the submissions and have put together a list of reviews that will help direct you to the right direction.
When it comes to finding a new pair of car door speakers that have the best value, there is no reason not to check out a pair of BOSS Audio Systems CH6230 speakers. The sound quality won’t match that of the JBL speakers above, but if money isn’t an issue, these are by far the best car door speakers.
It is said that these fantastic three-way 6.5-inch speakers produce about 90Db of sound and have a frequency response that ranges from 100 to 18,000 Hz. These can handle 150 W of RMS power (peak).
The bottom line is that these value-for-money speakers offer a lot of performance for the price they are offered at. Despite the fact that each of the three elements in the BOSS Audio Systems CH6530 speaker creates a wonderful sound, these speakers are able to produce bright, clear highs, mids, and bass.
If you want to know exactly how good these headphones actually sound, then you have to think about the price. A pair of JBL GTO629 headphones cost about a fifth of what these are.
Tesla Model S Premium Car Sound System – Premium Choice
Tesla says that if you drive the world’s best electric car, you should also ride in the world’s best stereo. We won’t waste time disputing that claim; however, the Model S Premium Car Sound System is quite exceptional, and these speakers were specifically designed to complement that package.
You can replace your factory speakers directly with these speakers if you own a Tesla Model S. All holes will line up perfectly and connect seamlessly; virtually plug-and-play. Furthermore, they sound terrific, which far surpasses Tesla’s normal stereo speakers.
There are two front and two rear 166 mm, custom sized speakers included, each with 1.2 ohms and capable of handling 250 watts RMS power.
Most people, however, struggle with at least one problem, if not two. To begin with, there is the price. Our top pick JBL GTO629 speakers cost about five times as much as a set of speakers costing just under $1,000 at time of writing. The second, well, unless you own a Tesla Model S, you’re unlikely to be interested in a set of speakers that have been specially designed and built for that car.
Kenwood 2-Way Sport Series Car Audio Door Coaxial Speakers
The KFC-1666S two-way speakers from Kenwood are among the most popular and least expensive 6.5-inch speakers on the market right now. These are a good, full-range speaker that is rated from 40-22,000 Hz, equipped with a balanced dome tweeter that provides lovely clean mid tones and a Polypropylene woofer with treated cloth surrounds that deliver deep, rich bass tones.
The BOSF Audio Systems CH6230 is an excellent speaker, and has the capacity to handle 30 watts of power RMS. However, it does not deliver the sound that the BOSS Audio Systems CH6230 does.
They may be perfect for you if you just want to replace your old factory speakers in the simplest way possible without having to spend a lot of money or making any further modifications to your stereo system.
Pioneer 2-Way Speakers
The Pioneer TS-1634R 2-way speakers help you improve the sound and save money at the same time. A set of Pioneer TS series speakers will not win you any awards, but if what you are after is an improvement over your factory speakers, you might give them a try.
These speakers are designed to fit most 6.5-inch and 6.75-inch speaker locations, and they can handle up to 30 watts RMS (180 watts peak) with a frequency response of 20-28,000 Hz.
With these speakers you will get a grill included in the package as well as they look great. Moreover, they perform well in terms of sound consistency as well.
Rockford Fosgate 3-Way Coaxial Speaker
The Rockford Fosgate R165X3 is one of the best speakers we’ve reviewed and it’s only because of their price that they didn’t make our list — they were half as expensive as some of the other speakers we’ve looked at. It was discovered that the Rockford Fosgate’s CH6230 is a three-way speaker, just like BOSS Audio Systems CH6230.
There is also a high pass tweeter crossover that allows all the higher frequencies to be transmitted to the tweeters, making sure a clear, crisp sound can be heard through the speakers. Designed to offer a 45 watt RMS (90 watt peak) power rating as well as a frequency response that ranges from 52 to 20,000 Hz .
There was only one slight problem we noticed with these speakers, and that was a slight distortion of the bass when the volume was raised. It is unlikely to be noticeable unless you regularly listen to music that has a large amount of bass in it.
The Rockford Fosgate R165X3’s, which come from Rockford Fosgate, do not disappoint in terms of build quality. As an added bonus, I was also pleased to discover that Rockford Fosgate includes a steel basket grill in the box, which not only looks nice, but will also help to protect the speaker enclosure from foreign objects.
