will jeep Cherokee wheels fit on wrangler?
Interested in getting a set of 18″ wheels off a 2009 Wrangler to swap out the OEM rims on my 2001 Grand Cherokee. I found out the bolt pattern is both 5 x 5″ but heard the brake calipers interfere with the installation?
As well, what is the maximum size that can be fitted to the tires on my GC without having to lift it to avoid rubbing – my vehicle is a 2WD if that makes any difference to you? If so, thank you for your assistance.
If it were me to make the decision, I would assume the 18″ wheels would actually give you more caliper clearance; however, back spacing is probably the most important consideration. If it were me, I would bet on it fitting but I am more of a ZJ guy anyway.
You may not be able to use the stock 18″ wheels off of the Sahara Edition. The wheels have a fairly thick casting on them that interferes with the brake calipers when it comes to fitting. For your own assurance, please ask the seller if they will let you test one when you go to look at them.
It seems like the seller lives about 40 miles from the property and he’s not exactly forthcoming with information. Having sent him another email asking what model Wrangler the rims were originally mounted on, I am hoping he will get back to me as soon as possible. Thank you; your advice has helped me a lot.
Could you make a recommendation on 18″ wheels/rims off of a 2009 Wrangler to replace rims on my 2001 Grand Cherokee? I checked the bolt pattern and they are both 5 x 5″ but I read somewhere that my calipers block the wheels.
How far can I go with the tires on a GC without having to lift it, but make sure there is no rubbing – I have a 2WD, if that matters? I’m very grateful for your response.
